1. How many Appcelerator Certifications are there?
There are two Appcelerator Certifications, which have been upgraded from previous certifications; Titanium Certified Developer (TCD), and Titanium Certified Expert (TCE).
2. What happens with people with the previous certifications?
People with the previous certifications, namely Titanium Certified Application Developer (TCAD) and Titanium Certified Mobile Developer (TCMD), have no cause for concern. Their certifications will remain valid, but they only recognize a developerâ€™s abilities till Titanium 2.x releases. The certifications will be officially retired at a specific future date.
3. How do I take the exam?
The exams for both certifications can be given online. Both examinations are paid exams.
4. How many times can I attempt the exam?
Once purchased, one can sit for the examination only once. For giving the examination again, the purchase will have to be made again as well.
5. What are the timings of the examination?
The examination, once purchased, can be attempted at any point of time. However, once you begin the examination, you will have to complete it within 90 minutes.
6. What are the topics covered in these examinations and what is the qualification percentage?
The topics covered for these examinations include current Titanium techniques such as Alloy, ACS and Titanium 3.x. A minimum percentage of 75 is required in order to attain the certifications.
