The CMO of SAS, Randy Guard quoted that "The open SAS Viya architecture makes analytics accessible to anyone, and we want to build upon that openness by creating a community for knowledge sharing. Our users will be able to contribute code, procedures, visuals and services, and collaborate on ideas."
Flexibility
SAS claims that the new analytics architecture is extremely flexible and allows the user to deploy on either the cloud or on premise in accordance to their convenience. As the entire world of Information Technology leans towards the cloud space, this new cloud feature would definitely pose a foundation for future cloud-based products from SAS.

The SAS spokesperson said that "SAS Visual Investigator supports search, query, and visualization of data, regardless of format, size and location, as well as investigations using geospatial, network, and temporal visualizations. And, Viya would become the "foundation for all future SAS products."
