  • About Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician

    Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) is the basic certification useful for any newcomer aspiring to enter networking domain. This certification endorses your ability to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security.

    You will gain the necessary skills to demonstrate as a network technician for an entry-level network support positions which are the starting point for many successful careers in networking.

CISCO CCENT Certification

The Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1) exam (100-105) is a 90-minute, 45 - 55 question assessment that is associated with the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification. This certification is the first step to achieve other associate-level certifications. This exam tests your knowledge and skills in network fundamentals, LAN switching technologies, routing technologies, infrastructure services, and infrastructure maintenance.

You have another option to take Cisco tests 640-822 and 640-816. After clearing test 640-822, you will get the CCENT certification. You can go ahead and clear the test 640-816, and you would have both your CCENT and your CCNA certifications. CCENT is halfway to your CCNA certification.

The 90-minute test involves 40 to 45 questions, and it costs $125. The CCENT certification is a three-year valid certification.

CCENT Recertification:

CCENT certifications are valid for three years. You can apply for recertification before your certification expires in any of the following ways:

  • Get a passing score in the current ICND1 exam
  • Get a passing score in any current Associate-level exam
  • Get a passing score in any 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exams.
  • You can get recertified by getting a passing score in any 642-XXX Cisco expert level exam with some exclusions.
  • Get a passing score in any CCIE written Exam
  • Get a passing score on the current CCDE written exam or a passing score in CCDE Practical exam
  • Clear the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview and board review to CCENT certification
