What is CCNA?

CCNA is the abbreviation for Cisco Certified Network Associate, it’s one of the leading associate-level certifications in information technology (IT) certified by the Cisco Systems. It is believed to be one of the entry-level certifications with higher values for people who want to enter networking and other IT professions.

Requirements:

The following are the necessary requirements from a candidate:

  1. Experience in implementing and administering Cisco solutions
  2. Basic knowledge in IP addressing
  3. Knowledge in network fundamentals

New Program:

The New CCNA is designed in such a way it includes security, automation and programmability. It also covers a wide range of fundamentals under one exam, one training course. The following topics are included in the new CCNA certification

v  Network fundamentals

v  Network access

v  IP connectivity

v  IP services

v  Security fundamentals

v  Automation and programmability

Replacements:

The new CCNA Certifications replaces the following CCNA certifications:

v  CCNA Cloud

v  CCNA Collaboration

v  CCNA Data Center

v  CCDA

v  CCNA Industrial

v  CCNA Routing and Switching

v  CCNA Security

v  CCNA Service Provider

v  CCNA Wireless

Note:

  1. Before enrolling yourself in the new CCNA, one must take the new training course, “Implementing and Administering Cisco Networking Technologies” (CCNA).
  2. If you have already enrolled yourself in any current CCNA or CCDA certification then you have time till February 23, 2020, to complete your current CCNA/CCDA.
  3.   In case if you complete any current CCNA/CCDA certification before February 24, you will receive the new CCNA certification and a training badge in the corresponding technology area.
  4. If you already have Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification and would like to earn CCNA, you have until February 23 to complete your CCNA certification in the current program. As of February 24, you need to take the new exam to complete CCNA certification.
