Import and Export Big Data Using SAP Tools for Convenience

  • Link Copied

In use of big data with SAP, it is necessary that you obtain a transaction id to ensure that request sent multiple times since an error must be processed only once. When the use is that of T RFC it is not required to have remote system as in case of the asynchronous RFC.

OCM Patches

Online correction mode or OCM helps correcting the work done online. OCM patches can be applied by using SPAM. This also requires that you perform SAP export as well as import tables in SAP from the OS levels.

How to Export and Import Tables?

You need to follow three steps for importing SAP tables from different OS levels. It would be necessary using the R3trans utility that is available in SAP modules. In the first step you have to collect the list of all the tables that are to be exported. In the second step you will check availability of disk space for storing the tables or downloading them. In the third and final step you have to create a couple of control files. These files are used with R3trans used for import and export.

Support Package, Kernel and SAP Note

For effective export and import of the files you will need to use three things; support package, kernel, and SAP note. Among them the SAP note is used to remove errors in single transactions or programs to be implemented. Kernel contains the executable files. When the Kernel is upgraded, new versions of EXE files replace the former versions. Support packages are used through application of transaction SPAM.  They come in a package, in the form of a set of corrections.

Finding List of Objects Repaired

For finding list of objects that have been repaired in the system you will have to access ADRACCESS key. Through accessing the key you can check up for all the objects that have been repaired in the system and the objects would be displayed in form of a list. Object directory entries can be found in Table TADIR.

Installing SAP Patches

Installing SAP patches is easy when you are alone online. But when others are online too these patches cannot be installed. The reason is that the support manager app is not able to update and would terminate the process. Therefore it is necessary finding out time when others are not online in order to install SAP patches.

SDM and JSPM

Java Support Package Manager or JSPM is the tool that helps you to easily install various components and in support packages. On the other hand SDM or the Software Delivery Manager is used for importing Java support packages. It helps deploying as well as managing of the support packages received from SAP.

Disabling Import from STMS

Followings are the steps required to be taken to disable import of STMS in SAP.

  • Go to the T-code in STMS.

  • Select system from the menu option overview.

  • Select SAP system from the list.

  • Approach the transport tool tab in the system.

  • Create the special parameter No Import All and set the value to 1 and save the same.

Use of Personalized and Parameter Tabs

The User master record contains two tabs namely; personalized and parameter tabs. The personalized tab helps in RFC connection. This tab creates such connection between the systems that are other than personal information of user whereas the parameter tab is used to assign the T-code on the work taken up.

Different Types of Users

There are different types of users in SAP. For instance; there are dialogue users, system users, service users, communication users, and reference users. The process of importing and exporting big data using SAP tools is different in each case.

Managing big datawith SAP tools is convenient for you because it would allow you not only import and export various components but also help restrict multiple logins in SAP.
