For example sake, let’s assume we are using a database in SQL Server of SAP BI 4.1 sp6 system. Then, following are the steps to take SAP BO audit report on all users associated to the system with their last login dates (with empty login dates for a user who never logged on).
Firstly, create and turn on the auditing services
Create a new audit database specifying the required details about the database in SQL server you need to access. Once created, the SAP BO will automatically create the required tables to store the audit information. (Note: If the AUDIT database is already created during the installation, then skip this and proceed to the next step)
Turn on the database connection
The next step is to make sure that database connection is actively pointing to the AUDIT database. This AUDIT database must the one from which the data needed to be analyzed.
Download and Install AUDIT Universe
Since the AUDIT universe is not installed with the version 4.x Business Objects, you need to download and install it by yourself. Once it is installed you can deploy the AUDIT universe in the same system.
Connect the AUDIT Universe with the database
After deploying the AUDIT universe, you need to connect it to the appropriate AUDIT database with the help of ODBC connection of OLE DB connection. And following which you need to add a table called ADS_USER to the AUDIT universe.
Ready to generate report
The system is ready to generate the repository once the universe is deployed and updated effectively. And this is the last phase where the report can be generated by the SAP BO system.
