History and Evolution of Java

Being developed in the year 1995, Java was initially a core component of a platform developed by Sun Microsystems. The project of developing this object oriented programming language is first initiated in the year 1991 by James Gosling.

In the beginning, this programming framework is not an open source resource. Only during the later months of 2006, Sun Microsystems Inc. declared Java as open source software and before 2007 modified every code as per the open source license.

After years of upgrades and modification, the Java software framework is one of the most sought after and reliable open-source software frameworks across the globe. The recently released Java edition is Java SE 8 (Standard Edition) and it is power-packed with many advanced libraries and tools.
