The Outset Group

Our first contract was with RAND in 1991.  The world’s largest think tank asked Jay Ress, the founder of The Outset Group, to help design and implement a series of voice, data, and networking improvements.  As more customers followed, a small but highly respected company was born. Responding to the needs of our customers, we focused on project management, taking on complex telecom and IT projects in Health Care, Manufacturing, Finance, Aerospace, and Higher Education. Our leadership at the “tip of the spear” brought additional opportunities to serve our customers with business analysis and agile services. We entered the professional training arena in the year 2000, when customers asked to "show us how you do it".  We began with leadership, facilitation, and communication skills, and then expanded into fundamentals of project management and business analysis.  We mapped our training to the world’s leading standards in those fields (PMI, IIBA, ITIL, and Scrum Alliance) and became experts in those methods.
