Why training matters in Salesforce certification?
Salesforce certification training puts its users ahead of the learning curve. They become masters of the tool and will be able to extract maximum output of its features.
Salesforce is the world’s leading CRM software. It’s ability to quickly scale and adapt according the diverse needs of a business is what makes it tick. Businesses of all sizes and kinds love it for what it is. With its coming, Salesforce took away a serious burden of sales managers in managing customer accounts, retrieving reports, closing sales leads and several other routine functions.
However, there is no going at full pace from the word ‘Go’. Using Salesforce requires some training before users can make best of it. Here are some reasons why professional Salesforce training is a must for anyone.
Mastering the software is vital
For first time buyers of the software, Salesforce comes with a guide of 3,000 odd pages. The guide breaks down into tiny details the entire software tool and how it can be used for various CRM purposes.
If using the tool using one’s own expertise was good enough why will Salesforce take the effort to provide a mammoth user guide?
It’s because, using Salesforce is not easy as it seems. Salesforce is user-friendly, but not from day one. It takes some time for anyone to get used to its functioning and processes which requires Salesforce certification training and not just a huge user guide.
Uniform, clean and reliable data creation demands training
In May 2010, investors at Wall Street literally had a heart attack. A slight data entry error led to a (temporary) wipe out of close to $1.1 Trillion investor stocks. The alphabet ‘B’ in Billion was wrongly entered as ‘M’ in Million. The damage was reversed, however, it showed how deep a debacle can be if input data is wrong or nulled.
In any organization, be it ones that use Salesforce or otherwise, data quality is of utmost importance for getting quality output. If the input data itself is flawed, inconsistent and unreliable, the output given even by a world-class software like Salesforce will be unusable. Hence, the need to train users to create uniform, error-free and reliable data.
Sadly, like anything else that is difficult at the beginning but grows with training, data input also demands training. Salesforce training does just that. It helps users to learn how to create proper data that the CRM software can use for perfect synthesis and result throwback.
Customizations: from selection to deployment
In the Salesforce AppExchange store alone, there are 2,800+ apps available for users. This is excluding the endless number of third party apps available for integration into Salesforce. Unless, one knows the end use of these apps and integrations, and how they can be fitted into the tool, it is as good as not having them.

A Salesforce administrator certification and its training will empower the software administrator to spot apps that can amplify the tool’s performance. It is just like becoming a better mechanic who knows which modification will make the car a high-performing, octane powerful one. And for that Salesforce classes are needed.
Know the tool’s limits (so that you can overcome them with third party apps)
Salesforce has been successful in reducing its customer attrition rates successfully for 18 consecutive quarters. The tool is a massive hit in the CRM industry. Nevertheless, it is not fact. It has some inherent flaws of its own (like any other software).
For instance, until recently, Salesforce did not support Public Cloud hosting. It was only in June that is signed up with Amazon Web Services as a preferred cloud hosting partner. It still has a wide gap left to fill compared to its competitors like SAP, Oracle, SugarCRM, etc.
These flaws which are beyond the capabilities of Salesforce can be understood only with training. Like the old adage goes, ‘Little knowledge is dangerous’. That is why knowing the tool’s limits before usage is better. Also, it improves the chances of finding the right third party apps that can be integrated to negate the flaws. Like in this case, a better cloud hosting platform that can be stretched and shrunk at will.
In the End
Salesforce certification has become one of the most coveted professional credential for any CRM or marketing professional. For those who are deep into achieving their career goals, Salesforce certification training paves an arrow-straight road with no hiccups en route. It will make you a professional who can make Salesforce work to your whims and fancies.
