Software we use today lacks quality

There is an alarming necessity to address the software quality constrains. It’s now or never to stop users getting fed up with the software quality these days. In a recent evolvement, many software users had reported frustration and unhappiness towards the software they had been given. In spite of the exaggerated marketing tricks and tactics, the software was meant to satisfy the user in one way or the other.

We can blame it on the quick productions

Be it be the demand to create faster products with many features or the lack of resources these days, the noise about software quality issues are getting louder day after day. There was a significant improvement in the quality strategies such as agile development methods, software quality assurance tools etc. But, when you stop and examine the software that we utilize today, one can find that there is not much improvement in the quality from the past. Maybe this all because of the super quick iterations and the urgency of the business to produce the software in short span of time.

Check, Move!

Today, Apple claims that its iOS 9 was the fastest adopted software update in the history of operating system and the Windows 10 operating system is trending worldwide on its first post RTM preview. But, when we take the actual facts into consideration, there is a significant contrast to what is happening in the software market. It is the fact that Microsoft had laid off thousands of software testers and we can assume that the testing and iteration had become less priority. From “test, iterate, iterate, iterate”, the software companies migrated towards “check, move, check move” strategy. Once any feature in the software was working once, they tend to move towards the next module.

Rapid decline in quality

Recently, the CEO of Logikworx said that “The premise is that by iterating faster, users get better features faster, and greater technological advances are thrown in, but left unsaid is the software quality. Frankly, it sucks bilge water.” Many other technological expressed their dissatisfaction towards the way the software quality constraints are moving. If the decline of software quality assurance is moving at these phases, soon there might be a need for critical software quality revolution.
