How To Do Your Mobile App Designing The Right Way
Before smartphones came into the limelight, most companies and organizations used their websites and media presence to get in touch with their existing customers and try to fetch new ones. But after smartphones came, everything changed!
Smartphone platforms like Android and iOS have opened up new doors for companies, and with smartphone sales figures skyrocketing with each passing day, almost every major company is coming up with mobile apps.
These Android applications and their iOS cousins are increasingly turning from luxuries to necessities, and mobile app development and design is serious business these days. However, the development and design process is no joke. There are several critical factors to consider, which may considerably affect the end result.

Avoiding Multi-Platform Releases
One of the most common mistakes in mobile app design is to release apps for multiple platforms at the same time. The two most popular mobile software platforms nowadays are Android and iOS and many think it would be wise to design apps for both at the same time, right?
Wrong! Designing apps for two platforms mean more development time and more costs. It’s not a problem if everything goes well for an app in both platforms. But if the app is a failure, the losses involved would be immense. It’s better to give priority to one platform instead of focusing on two at the same time.
Audience Identification
Without proper research about the target audience, your app will almost certainly be a disaster. Demographics play an important role in this regard, as it can contribute immensely to the marketing side of things. Do you want to release the app on a global scale, or target it to a niche audience or a particular region? Are youngsters more likely to use the app, or is it something old people would like?
A great way of finding out the answers to similar questions is to create multiple online communities over a number of platforms. Encouraging active participation in these communities through solid social media work can give you great insight into where your target audience lies and most importantly, who they are.
User Interface
Both Android apps and iOS apps with bad user interface rarely manage to impress. Your app’s UI will determine its content interaction capabilities, and also how it presents information to the user.
In case you are suffering from a bad case of designer’s block, you should stick to conventional designs. Take a good look at some of the most successful mobile apps and see what their UIs have in common, and design your app accordingly. Although this is no guarantee for your app’s success, it surely gives the app more of a chance of doing well.
Minimal but not boring
Apps that are boring and dull are uninstalled sooner rather than later. But designers who are trying to spice things up by adding unnecessary animations and visuals are going about it in the wrong way. The more resource-intensive you make your app, the more chances it has of draining batteries faster. The last thing a user would want is to see his battery run out just for a single app. Therefore, keep your design minimal, and add additional background tasks and visuals only if they are relevant and absolutely necessary.
Speed
In an age of distractions and lessening patience levels, a slow app is unwelcome. Apps that make people wait generally find their way out of smartphones very fast. Ensure that your app does not make people wait for a long time. Even if it does during certain processes, the inclusion of graphics and messages is recommended as it can make the user feel acknowledged, and that counts for a lot.
To ensure that your app design is up to scratch, choose reliable iOS and Android development training courses.
