1. SQL

2. Java

3. JavaScript
JavaScript and Java are not the same and is another powerful and popular programming language and is used to jazz up the web pages, by making them interactive. It is used to display pop up messages, add the effects to the web pages and create the games with the basic functionality. It is also the scripting language of the World Wide Weband is built into the Safari, Firefox and the Internet Explorer. 7. PHP
This language was originally created by a Danish-Canadian programmer, Rasmus Lerdorf in the year 1994, as a set of tools to maintain his PHP (Personal Home Page). Today, PHP is known as Hypertext Pre-Processor and is a scripting language, which is used to create the web pages, written in HTML. It has gained popularity as it is an easy-to-use language and offers multitude of advanced and innovative features for the experienced programmers.
8. Ruby on Rails
This is also a general purpose programming language, like the C or Java. It serves as a framework for the Ruby language and is also used in web programming. The advantages of using Ruby on rails is that it has a vast variety of the third party libraries, do not require too many codes and helps in rapid development. It finds wide application from large organizations to the start-ups. Twitter, GitHUb, Hulu and Living Social all use this programming language for at least one of their web applications.
